Oracle Organics uses only pure essential oils to scent our products and never uses any synthetic fragrance oils.  Our aromatherapy blends have been specially formulated to maximize each ingredient’s unique characteristics and benefits. Unlike synthetic fragrance oils, essential oils are obtained directly from their plant source and have beneficial properties that can enhance the skin and emotional well being.

Oils&Butters

Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is a great moisturizer and also acts as a barrier to prevent moisture loss.

Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is not oil at all but actually a microcrystalline wax. It works equally well on oily or dry skin as its chemical composition closely matches that of our own sebum. That allows for easy penetration without blocking any of the skin’s natural functions.

Macadamia Nut Oil:  Macadamia Nut Oil closely resembles the skins natural oils making it easily absorbable and regenerative.  It has been used as a skin regenerative.

Olive Oil: Olive Oil is a beneficial moisturizer. It acts as a humectant (attracts external moisture) while creating a breathable film to prevent loss of internal moisture. It has the added benefit of not blocking the natural functions of skin.

Rose Hip Seed Oil:  Nothing compares to pure Rose Hip Seed Oil.  It has proven itself to be successful in treating wrinkles, dry skin, scars and premature aging.

Sesame Oil: Sesame oil is used for its beneficial moisturizing properties. It also has high levels of anti-oxidant vitamins A&E and essential proteins.

Soybean Oil: Soybean oil is easily absorbed and high in lecitihin, sterolins, and vitamin E, all substances known to help heal skin.

Sweet Almond Oil: Sweet Almond oil is beneficial for all skin types and is used for its soothing, softening and moisturizing properties.

Fair Trade Unrefined Shea Butter: Shea Butter, new to western cosmetics, has been used for centuries in Africa for its healing and moisturizing skin properties. It comes from nuts of the wild shea tree, is a natural emollient and helps to restore skin’s natural elasticity. Unlike the majority of the shea butter on the market, our Shea Butter is imported directly from Africa and directly benefits communities and the women producing it under organic and fair trade standards.  Our Shea Butter is sourced by The Fair Trade Federation ensuring fair wages and environmental sustainability.

 

Essential Oils

Balsam of Tolu:  Balsam of Tolu  is obtained from a South American tree’s resin.  The scent is similar to that of vanilla in its sweet richness. 

Cinnamon Leaf: Cinnamon leaf essential oil is distilled from the leaf of the cinnamon tree. It is warming, antiseptic, and antifungal. It is used in aromatherapy to stimulate and refresh the mind by reducing mental exhaustion and lack of concentration.

Clary Sage: Clary Sage essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves of the herb. It has sweet herbal smell. It has tonic, sedative, and hypotensive (lowers blood pressure) properties. Especially useful during the menstrual cycle, it is a powerful relaxant that eases muscle tension and calms the emotions. It has also been used in aromatherapy to treat nervous disorders such as depression, panic, paranoia, fearfulness and hysteria.
 
Clove Bud:  Clove bud essential oil is obtained through distillation of the flower buds. Spicy and penetrating, it is warming, antiseptic and antispasmodic. Clove is useful for mental fatigue and anxiety.

Davana:  Davana is a soothing oil helpful for dry and chapped skin.  It is antibacterial and has a sweet fruity scent.

Douglas Fir: Douglas Fir essential oil is used to treat sore muscles. It has antiseptic properties and is believed to combat free radicals. Douglas Fir is also a natural antioxidant.

Eucalyptus:  Eucalyptus oil is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves and twigs of the tree.  Treasured for the respiratory system, it has a woody, camphory and slightly minty scent.

Fir Needle: Fir needle is obtained through steam distillation of the needles. Its traditional use is as a respiratory tonic and to soothe states of anxiety. Like Douglas Fir it is believed to combat free radicals and is a natural antioxidant.

Frankincense: Frankincense essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the gum-resin of the shrub/small tree with a warm spicy smell. It is especially useful in treating ageing and dry skin. It has also been shown to aid in the healing of scars and stretch marks. In aromatherapy it is used to reduce tension and awaken higher consciousness.
 
Geranium: Geranium essential oil is obtained through the steam distillation of the leaves. It smells sweet and very similar to rose. It is a cleansing and stringent skin tonic. It is suitable for all skin types due to its ability to balance the production of sebum. This is helpful for either very oily or excessively dry skin. Geranium is also helpful is reducing cellulite. A mood adjuster, it helps to balance emotions by calming and uplifting the spirits.

Ginger:  Ginger essential oil is steam distilled from the roots and rhizomes of the ginger plant.  It is traditionally used to stimulate and warm the heart and improve circulation.  Its scent is warm, spicy, and woody.

Lavender: Lavender essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the flowers. It is an effective and superior skin rejuvenator. All skin types can benefit from lavender but it is especially useful for stretch marks and scarring, inflammation, eczema, psoriasis and sunburn. In aromatherapy it is used to temper extreme emotional states and to induce peacefulness.

Lime Peel:  Obtained through steam distillation of lime peels, this oil is traditionally used for acne and dull skin.  It has a sweet citrusy scent.

Lemon: Lemon essential oil is produced by expression of the peel. It has a crisp and clean distinctive lemony scent. It is especially good for oily skin and dull completions. It is also said to aid thinking, stimulate action and dispel sluggishness.
 
Marjoram: Marjoram essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves. It has a warm, spicy, herbaceous aroma. As a sedative and tonic it is used to treat insomnia, muscle pain and spasms, and promote sleep.
 
Myrrh: Myrrh essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the gum-resin. It is useful for treating mature skin and maintaining a youthful complexion. It is also beneficial for severely dry chapped skin. Myrrh is used in aromatherapy to calm fear and uncertainty by strengthening courage.
 
Patchouli: Patchouli essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the dried fermented leaves. It has an earthy, exotic persistent aroma. It is a skin rejuvenator and is helpful for mature skin as it promotes the growth of new skin cells. It is also helpful for sensitive skin and skin allergies. Patchouli is said to be grounding and sedative, useful for anxiety and an aphrodisiac.
 
Peppermint: Obtained through the steam distillation of the leaves, peppermint is beneficial for skin that is irritated or itchy. It is used in aromatherapy to aid clear thinking, treat mental fatigue, and dispel depression.

Peru Balsam: Peru Balsam essential oil is obtained through steam distillation. It has a sweet vanilla like scent. It aids in healing dry and chapped skin. It is used in aromatherapy for its warming, comforting, and soothing properties.

Rosemary:  Rosemary essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of the plant.  It is antiseptic and helpful for joint and muscular pain.  It is also a capillary strengthener and skin rejuvenator.  It has a sweet herbaceous scent. 

Rosewood:  Rosewood essential oil is steam distilled from the bark of the tree.  Helpful for dry and dull skin, it has moisturizing and skin healing properties.  It has a woody and rosy scent and is warming, balancing and calming.

Spearmint: Spearmint essential oil is obtained through the steam distillation of the leaves. Its aroma is similar to that of peppermint but is slightly sweeter. Spearmint is cooling and helpful for acne prone skin. In aromatherapy it is used for its stimulating and uplifting properties.
 
Sweet Orange: Sweet Orange essential oil is obtained through expression of the peel. It is useful for dry, dull, acne prone and irritated skin. It is said to dispel depression, and is uplifting and invigorating.

Tangerine: Tangerine essential oil is obtained trough expression of the peel. Used in aromatherapy it helps to treat sore muscles, premenstrual symptoms, tension, sadness, irritability and fear.

Vetiver: The essential oil of vetiver is obtained through steam distillation of the dried roots. It has an earthy aroma. Beneficial for mature and dry skin types it promotes regeneration of skin cells. In aromatherapy it is used to induce a sense of calm and tranquillity and as an aphrodisiac.
 

Enhancers

Vitamin e: Our natural Vitamin E is obtained through vacuum distillation of vegetable fats and is not the commonly found synthetic imitation. It is used for its powerful anti-oxidant properties.

Rosemary Extract::  Rosemary leaf extract is one of the most effective natural preservatives.  It is very high in antioxidants and can protect the skin from oxidative damage.

Green Tea Extract:  Green Tea Extract is packed with natural antioxidants.  Clinical studies have shown that its anti-inflammatory properties can help skin reduce inflammation, fine lines, wrinkles and large pores
